I really liked Rita's "Letter from the Editor" that I found in Fit Yoga.

I recommend reading the full letter, but here is a little snippet:
I devised a very private practice: For one week, my task was to find something that was truly beautiful about every person I came in contact with. Here's what I discovered: The check-out girl at the market has the most beautiful green eyes; the gentleman who pumps my gas has the kindest smile and always reminds me to drive safely; my daughter looks spectacular in periwinkle blue; the security guard in my office building happily greets everyone by name; my yoga teacher has the most amazing ability to explain the subtleties of asana with melodious ease; the faces of my students smiling back at me fill me with joy; my grandmother's hands are fragile and lovely; the woman practicing next to me has really gorgeous feet... and so on and so on.
Goregous girl, thank you :-)

I love Rita! And I miss her! She use to take Tuesday night class with me but I know she is super busy doing a million and one things. I enjoy reading her letters too. It's the only Editor's Letter that I read. I don't even read YJ's lol!

I stopped reading Yoga Journal in depth a long time again -- that is, when they morphed into a fitness magazine, IMHO. Despite it's title, sometimes Fit Yoga seems to be what YJ used to be.

Oh, what a beautiful concept! Beauty is in everything if you just take the time to look for it!
Thanks for posting this, Becky!

Thanks for this, YGG & Fit Yoga. I do something similar, but at the end of the day just before going to bed. This week, I'll notice more during the day, that way I'll catch the little things--like how the water falling in the shower looks like tiny crytals reflecting the light.

Great reminder! Someone told me about seeing bananas floating in a river, in the shape of a flower, so now I keep reminding myself to see the bananas. Not quite as poetic as your image, but hey!

Hi,
My name’s Tia and I'm an editor at OpposingViews.com, the debate website. We have a new debate you might be interested in, so I thought I'd drop you a note. I would've e-mailed you but I couldn't find an address.
See, we're currently having a discussion about whether or not yoga is a religion. You can see it here:
http://www.opposingviews.com/questions/is-yoga-a-religion
Although vetted experts are the ones doing the debating, anyone can contribute by choosing a side and posting comments about the experts' arguments.
Check it out and, if you have the time, let me know what you think at tia@opposingviews.com
Thanks!
